Our little French Bible and our first letter.

As I (Adam) was coming back from the last day of my first week of school I decided to stop by the local evangelical book shop. I wanted to ask the owner (in my best French) what is a good translation for a student of French, because I was wanting to read the Bible in French as much as I could. I was able to talk to him a little and tell him who I was and what we plan to do in France. He knew all about Wycliffe and proceeded to give me a brief history of Bible translations in French! I was stoked! He was very helpful and recommended this Bible that was translated in basic French. It is for readers who know the 3000 most common words in French. Very helpful! He said it was faithful to the original languages yet good fo
r students like me. He also invited me to come back and talk and borrow a book from his library. It was a great interaction, and I hope we can talk more with this fellow (Marc) as we learn more of the language. I will start reading in Jeremiah 4 tomorrow (where I am in my English reading anyways)

We also received our first letter from the states. It was great to get good words of encouragement from one of our supporting families.
