new French language helper!

I (Ruth) have prayed that the Lord would bring a girl or woman my way who could help me learn French, particularly one who would like to do a French/English exchange so that we could both help each other out...for free! (I know others have prayed for this as well).

Now I'm thanking God for providing a really sweet language helper for me! Her name is Pascale. She works as a nurse in a town nearby, and since she only works four days a week, she will be able to meet with me on her day off so we can help each other with language learning.

Today Pascale came over for the first time, and we hit it off just great. We spent about two hours visiting and scouring our dictionaries for words we didn't know: I think her English and my French both got boosted a little, and I am sure looking forward to the next time.

. . .
On another note...I've been making homemade bread, mostly in pita bread form, for our bread consumption lately; it is from the cookbook The New Laurel's Kitchen, which is my favorite recipe book. I recommend this cookbook to anyone who likes cooking tasty and healthy food (particularly vegetarian fare).

Does it seem crazy that in France, the country renowned for its great bread, I am making my own bread? Well--we have tried some real French bread and yes, it is wonderful! But since it's white bread, we also like to have whole grain bread on hand. Plus, it's fun to make bread.
