In light of my (Ruth's) goal to be as studious as possible our last two months in France, I've set up John's bedroom to be my study room and also John's playroom. Basically, that means I've baby-proofed the room by covering all the electric outlets and making the room completely bare other than furniture and toys.
Today, as I was facing the wall and working on some French writing, I heard an enormous noise coming from behind me. John was standing with his back to the closet door and having great fun making noise by hitting himself repeatedly against the door. I love seeing the ways he finds to have fun--he is really good at playing by himself (although he also loves spending time with people and being interactive).
Just thought I'd post a little video of him banging the closet door...
We got a good laugh out of this! I remember you also,Ruth, being our first, being able to play for a long time contentedly all by yourself. It was when it got too QUIET that I became concerned!
