Here in France we have been told that it is good to develop a relationship with little stores where you buy things. People say that if you come regularly and shoot the breeze, then you might end up with some "regular-privileges" Well... we usually buy bread and something sweet from this little boulangerie while walking home from church on Sundays. We actually buy all our bread from this local little store owned by two women who make very good baguettes and great pastries. The last two Sundays all three of us (actually four with the little one) came in and bought a few things. One lady in particular loves John and apparently wants him to have some pastries too. So, today she gave John 8 little brioches for free. We said thank you several times and she responded,
"Oh, it's nothing...but thank you (for the business)" As you can see from the picture...she thinks John must have quite a healthy appetite, but I imagine that she thinks that his parents might nibble a bit on them too, well at least we hope that she thinks that...because...well...we do.
yummm...that is so tempting. i miss the French pastries!!
ReplyDeleteThey look good! How much DOES John eat of these kinds of things? Does he like them?

Hey Joyce,
ReplyDeleteJohn probably ate about 3/4 of one of the plain ones. He likes it a lot (mainly because it is food that he gets to eat :)!)
Thanks for the post and we do look forward to seeing everyone even though just for a short period of time, and while still recovering from some jet lag.
