All doctrines (a.k.a. truths from the Bible) are never meant just to fill our heads with knowledge, but to fill our heads with knowledge in order that we live our lives in light of those realities. Here is a good example...If one rejects or misunderstands the Biblical doctrine of election then one is lacking a good tool to become more compassionate, kind, humble, meek, and patient. Notice you "put on" all of those virtues under the mental framework that you are "God's chosen ones". So get out your Bible and get your noodle working on this doctrine...you might find yourself a more holy person at the end of it. (if you study it right)
