Continuing the Legacy

Long ago, my father taught me the subtle art of rock-smelling. This afternoon, I decided the time had come to pass the time-honored talent on to John.

In spite of having gotten five shots today, John was in perfect rock-smelling form. Well done, son.

  1. Ruth, if you look closely, you will see that you had on corduroy overalls just like John! I have always loved those. Even on little girls! My, you both are SOOOOO cute!

  2. That older picture is hilarious. Ruth, you look so focused and intense: is that a piece of charcoal, or are you really smelling a rock?

  4. Hey Eric, I may actually be smelling a piece of charcoal there! However, I know there is at least one photo (may be a different one) where I really am smelling a rock. So maybe my Dad taught me two important life skills, not just one! :)
